Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP on the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted songs online in the year 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. J. Cole had her send her songs to the Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 21, 2016, she released her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening act. In 2018 she guest-starred in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. The 13th of November, she released two more singles called No One or Pedigree. Then she appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26 2019 for her debut album the same name. In February of 2019, a music video was released for the song. It has already received over 3 million hits on YouTube in its debut week. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
